Braddock has lost 90% of its population since its founding, leaving several abandoned properties and vacant lots. It’s an old town and, like any hard working community, the wear and tear is visible in the cracks on the sidewalks, broken windows and overgrown alleys. Over time, we want to replace the disrepair with beauty, color, and creativity.

In the spring and summer of 2019, For Good partnered with Grounded Strategies and Braddock Youth Project to repurpose a vacant lot adjacent to the Hollander Building. This space is designed to host events, encourage creativity and community. It is a place to sit and reflect or share with friends and family and features a beautiful mural by local artist Ashley Hodder.

Beginning in the fall, we’ll be moving to the other side of the building and then make our way farther into the community, breathing new life and color into Braddock.
